More about Carol A Loeffler, PhD
Dr. Loeffler graduated with commendations from the University of Toledo and did her internship at University Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Her Masters Thesis and Dissertation investigated attitudes toward victims of rape by the general population and which characteristics distinguished a rapist from a non-rapist. She utilized her research and continued to work with both victims and perpetrators of sexual abuse for many years. She headed up a three-county task force in coordination with probation officers, clinicians, and prosecutors in an effort to protect the community and provide appropriate treatment and monitoring of sex offenders. She worked to reunite families affected by incest, supervised treatment programs for sex offenders, and treated victims of sexual abuse. She served on the Clinical Advisory Panel for the Diocese of Toledo, Ohio to ensure appropriate treatment for victims of sexual abuse by priests by reviewing cases and monitoring treatment.
In addition to maintaining a private practice, she was the clinical director of a community mental health center (CMHC) where she provided supervision and direction to a 36 person staff. She developed, implemented, marketed, and provided clinical and psycho-educational programming to the community. She also conducted individual and family therapy, crisis intervention and psychological testing and evaluation with adults and children.
