Marcy Buckner, MSW, LICSW a licensed psychotherapist, earned her master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate school of Social Work and an undergraduate degree from Tufts University. She provides individual, couples, and group psychotherapy to adults and teens, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), as well as solution-focused and psychodynamic treatment, approaches. Her work is based on the belief that individuals have the capacity within themselves to create positive and sustained change in their lives. She has thirty years experience treating mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, grief, and loss. In addition, she specializes in the emotional aspects of health rehabilitation, including neurological and congenital disabilities, brain injury, cognitive disabilities as well as autism spectrum disorders

In addition to maintaining a private practice, She has provided therapy to residents in several assisted living, group homes and long-term care communities ,as well as provided consultation and workshops within a variety of health care settings. Working collaboratively with physicians, as well as with physical, speech , occupational and vocational therapists, Marcy reflects on the importance of truly taking the time to fully understand the unique challenges of each individual.

Ms. Buckner served as adjunct faculty at the University of St. Thomas – St. Catherine’s University Graduate School of Social Work in St. Paul, Minnesota, and is a certified clinical supervisor, providing clinical supervision to postgraduate clinicians.
